Sidhen-Orcish Wars
This name is used to refer to a long-spanning and diverse set of conflicts that plagued Namkural many millennia ago. Though fought primarily on the middle continent of Yerenth, the wars and their result have had long-term repercussions for the entire plane.
Prior to the unification of the disparate sidhen nations -- and before the signing of the Thorose-Lukai Covenant -- the countries of Yerenth had tenuous relations at best. Though the worst of these was the Eldimyran Empire's insistent push south into luna sidhe territory, many of them had petty squabbles and border disputes that regularly put them at odds with one another. It took the arrival of a race from another plane, infected by a self-replicating parasite intent upon conquering Namkural, for these disparate peoples to set aside their differences and defend their home.
History has largely forgotten that the sidhe were not the only species involved in the war, but they certainly fought the bulk of it. Given that many of the other races were still developing, it fell to the older and more established of the civilized peoples to push back the extraplanar invaders. Utilizing every weapon and tactic at their disposal, no matter how dark or questionable, the sidhe did at last manage to repel them and reclaim the land that had been conquered. Going a step further than simply driving back the invading force, they systematically eradicated every trace of the alien race from the plane. Because neither the host, chassis race nor the parasites that piloted them ever returned, it is largely assumed that both are now extinct. On Namkural, they certainly are.
Despite the scale of this genocide, it is regarded in Namkural's history as a necessary evil to stop the plane from being conquered completely. Had the parasites been allowed to thrive or gain a foothold there, it is presumed they would have next turned their attention to Namkural's sister planes of Vyril and Torresind.
