Perrin Galanodel

Perrin Galanodel (Pronounced Gala-NO-dell) was a Ranger that lived in Barovia during the time of Strahd Von Zarovich's first reign. He served as a member of The Keepers of the Feather and protected The Wizard of Wines winery from dark spirits that sought to overtake it. Eventually he would join the Saviours of Barovia for a brief mission to the ruins of Berez, where he was unfortunately killed in battle.

History

Joining the Order

From the time Perrin was born in AoR 569, he was destined to serve within the Keepers of the Feather, as his family had always done. Born a Wereraven, Perrin began honing his wild shape ability, and also training with sword and bow. Perrin excelled in the wilderness, learning his way around Barovia as was expected of a ranger. Once Perrin had reached adulthood he was quickly accepted into the ranks of the Keepers by Davian Martikov. He was stationed at The Wizard of the Wines, the Keepers primary hideout and source of income. Serving here, Perrin was responsible for keeping the winery fields safe, usually dealing with dark nature spirits and barbarians from Yesterhill. Perrin soon established himself as one of Davian's most trusted rangers, often earning himself a place on the Keeper's most important missions. 

Guiding the Saviours

In AoR 597, a group named the Saviours of Barovia arrived at the Wizard of the Wines. They joined with the Keepers, helping in their desperate fight against evil in the region, and the retrieval of three gems; of which were imbued with essential magic that kept the winery fields productive with growth. By AoR 597, all these gems had been stolen from the winery, and the Saviours agreed to locate them. Perrin was tasked by Davian to lead the group to Berez, a ruined settlement set into a swamp. One of the gems was rumored to be here, stolen by a mysterious figure named Baba Lysaga.
Indeed the group located the gem, which was being used as a source of power for Baba Lysaga's awakened witch house. The group engaged Baba in combat, though they were quickly outmatched by her magic and the sheer power of her house. One by one the Saviours fell, with only the magic of Norgold Dragonsbane keeping them alive. Unfortunately, Perrin fell to a strike from the house, instantly knocking him out cold. While unconscious, his body was devoured by a swarm of black flies, a summon of Baba Lysaga. However, even in death Perrin served the group, as Colborn Sergeant was able to rejoin the fight, the black flies choosing Perrin over him. Armed with the Sunsword, Sarge was able to help in the desperate fight, finally driving Baba Lysaga off with the help of Tylus Symshade.
The group buried what was left of Perrin, laying his body in the ruins of Berez permanently. Perrin's death brought great anguish to Davian Martikov and the rest of the Keepers, as they had lost another of their finest warriors.
