Session 6. Report

General Summary

The session began with the slickest of green fellows in a cave filling up his waterskin of fresh underground spring water. Outside of it, Lyon was wondering why it was taking him so long and slowly made his way back towards the ropes as Willy began sneaking his way back. However, given the humidity and condensation of the cave, Lyon slipped and began sliding down the path.   Willy grabbed the ropes and began attempting to make his way up as the commotion attracted the cave dwelling inhabitants who, armed with claw and spear, made their way towards them. Lyon managed to pull himself up at the last moment and Willy, with the unwitting help of the creatures, managed to make his way up. They then scrambled to leave, only to find the entrance covered with a few thick vines which draped over the exit.   Indeed Lyon had heard a few sounds of wood snapping in the distance, but paid it no heed. Nevertheless, the due had little time and chose to risk it. As they passed through the vines, they shuddered slightly and as the pursuers gave chase, it coiled and snatched a few of them away. Looking back, Lyon and Willy were able to barely make out the shape of a creature resembling an enormous land octopus which slammed and picked at the attacking lizard like humanoids.   This allowed them to make their escape and rest. After conversing, they have decided to return to the house where they first retrieved the bezoars to see if they could find any clues as to how to proceed.   Once arriving, they found it overgrown with thick brambles which seemed to expand outwards from the house, with a shuffling figure just at the edge of the house's entrance. The briars above the mount seemed to form the face of the man which they have fought off. They snapped and contorted to face Willy and Lyon. There was a stare down between the entity of briars and the pair which led to them discovering that as the sun passed across the sky, the figure moved to accompany the shadows. And as these grew longer, the creature's reach did as well.   Lyon served then as a distraction, allowing Willy to infiltrate the house once more.   Inside, he saw the man they had faced before stretched and suspended in the thorn roots which grew out of him and out of the house. His ribcage was open, revealing a beating heart enveloped by the same thick thorny roots which enveloped the bezoars. Yet, despite all this, the man was alive. "I will see my family again." He whispered. "We will be together." He repeated. "We will be avenged." These words were his mantra. Willy then set him ablaze, leading to the withering of the brambles and roots which sprouted out of him as well as the wilting of the creature chasing Lyon.   After a moment to catch their breath and a more thorough investigation of the house, they found out that this was the only surviving family of the house in the clearing they passed by.   With now this information fresh in their minds, they rushed to the clearing with the burned hut, to make sure that they may investigate it before night falls and their time runs out.
