Ratling

The ratlings - their own name for their species unpronounceable in the Common tongue and coming out only as a series of squeaks and chitters - are a species found predominantly in the southwest of Sevaria, particularly within the Deepbranch in The Silver Vale.

Naming Traditions

Most ratlings tend to have two names: one in Chitterspeak and one in the Common tongue. Because few other species can understand Chitterspeak, most ratlings identify themselves using their Common name. These tend to be similar to the deed names or virtue names of other species, embracing some aspects of the ratling's being.
