Stoic Vigil
Charged with the patrol and containment of the southern parts of the Black Forest's border, Stoic Vigil is a Seeker fellowship based in Seastone Bastion, a fortress on the shore of the Arcansea, due south of the Mourning Plateau.
In addition to their duties as a seeker fellowship, the harbor of their keep is also used for trade, with their dock workers loading and unloading trading ships whenever ships of the fleet are out on patrol. This means that Stoic Vigil is perhaps the wealthiest of the fellowships, as they exact a toll for services rendered whenever they resupply, load and outfit ships not part of their own fleet.
The fellowship has also recently begun testing a S'aue designed cannon that propels a spread of these anointed harpoons with the aid of pressurized steam, which are then reeled back in via a winch that is attached to the harpoons via a length of chain. Preliminary results are promising, as the retrieval rate of the precious harpoons has increased exponentially.
Duties
As the southern parts of the Black Forest are mostly encircled by the shores of the Arcansea, the seekers of Stoic Vigil make heavy use of ships to patrol the shoreline borders, making sure that no Hatelings attempt to leave the forest via water. Seastone Bastion boasts a fully fledged and stocked harbor for the fellowships small fleet of ships, which are designed and maintained by experienced shipwrights. The Stoic Vigil takes their duties extremely seriously, considering their charge to be more dangerous than those of the other fellowships due to the maritime nature of their assigned border patrols. In addition to their duties as a seeker fellowship, the harbor of their keep is also used for trade, with their dock workers loading and unloading trading ships whenever ships of the fleet are out on patrol. Numbers and organization
Stoic Vigil is comprised of roughly five hundred seekers and another three hundred or so of miscellaneous staff such as ship crews, blacksmiths, stablehands, squires, cooks and longshoremen. Seastone Bastion itself offers accomodations for the Seekers, while the rest are housed in the surroundings of the keep, in camps and small unnamed settlements that are considered a part of the grounds of Seastone Bastion. The current leader of Stoic Vigil is Seeker-Captain Whitedew, who also commands the Unbroken, the flagship of the fleet.Notable equipment
Like all Seekers, the knights of Stoic Vigil are armed with swords of weeping steel and vials full of the Tears of the Divine. However, these knights rarely have to draw these swords as they engage mostly in maritime combat, with fewer on-foot patrols along the shoreline. To that end, the fellowships blacksmiths have forged harpoons of weeping steel, designed to be shot (via stakethrowers installed on the decks of most of the fellowships vessels) or thrown at waterbound targets.
