Leiffel Adre

Leiffel Adre was a human who lived during the The Era of Tranquility and was a cleric of Glaw, when they were a minor deity, before tragedy caused her to lose her faith.

A Family Faith

Leiffel's family were all members of the temple of Glaw, and it was traditional that at least one child in each generation would become a cleric. Leiffel had both the interest and apitude for the work, and readily devoted herself to a life of worship and caring for the people of her town. She and the others of her temple prayed and worked constantly to encourage rains to nourish the farmlands around them, and this was usually rewarded by a bountiful harvest.

Tragedy

One winter, when Leiffel was in her thirties, the rains fell too heavily and the bank of the Kyra river burst, with a ferocity unknown. Leiffel's favourite brother, Kenuric, and a number of others were caught in the subsequent flood as they made their way towards the temple and drowned. Leiffel was consumed by a deep grief after this, and abandoned her clerical duties, unwilling or unable to accept the comfort of her spiritual family. After three months of barely speaking, and rarely leaving the temple where she lived, she hung up her robes and left the town, searching for a new cause to devote her life to, and a kinder deity.
