Sea's Promise

Sea's Promise was a huge lake in Nisr, and the flying city's main source of water. It was vital in keeping it independent of the weather, and maintaining its large population. It magically replenished itself through a constant jet of water from a small fissure that led to the Elemental Plane of Water. The water flowed through a carefully tended irrigation system to maintain the whole island, and excess water filtered through the earth and stone to form regular light showers on the terrain below.

History suggests that Sea's Promise was created by a powerful Marid from the Elemental Plane of Water, in exchange for promised support in a war there. Whether the deal was ultimately honoured is unknown.
