Shadowless Dunes

A grave place filled with shipwrecks.

The area around here is so hot that if you don't have the right equipment your clothes will literally burn off your body, but not before you also turn into charcoal. The few who have even managed to survive around here have make a way to traverse the desert with these dunesails. Regardless of how you travel the desert winds are enough to suffocate even the strongest of the people, also the sun here also doesn't cast a shadow regardless of where you go and the Shadowfolk won't travel close to the desert. So you may be protected from the Shadowfolk but you are entirely exposed to the heat and scorching winds of the desert.

The winds are the only predictable part of the dunes, otherwise it's an endless void of sand trapped between two ridges with no shade to rest.

Time of Day

With the sun scorching the grounds and no shade to hide the creatures of this place have build such a strong resistance to the heat that the cool winds of the night drive them to hide under the blazing sand. Travel in the desert is almost impossible during the day but the night allows for a swift trip along the dunesails. But the creatures hunt anything they can during the day for the food in the desert is scarce.

"The heat was so intense that our water supply started to boil within our waterskin," says Rybo, the parties cleric. "We had so little time to get to the ruins and back before we could run out." This is the experience of one well know party who had brought back the ancient book from the scorched library.  "We could barely move without our bodies overheating and wanting too faint from exhaustion," Bright Shield adds. "The was I had to protect the party was changed in a moment, it was no longer about how to fight but how to just survive on what we had left." As you can see these dunes are no joke for any members of the G.A., but rather a struggle for the highest rank party so before you accept that quest to go into the Shadowless Dunes just remember their group had five but only came back with three left.
