Auroras of Tralfa Prime

This article is a part of Summer Camp 2023 and is still a work in progress.
Much like the auroras seen in the Artic and Antartic on Old Terra, the auroras on Tralfa Prime are beautiful and fascinating. Unlike Old Terra the auroras are not regulated to certain areas on the planet and will instead cover the entire sky of Tralfa Prime in their blues, greens, and occasional reds.   On Taad Becor, it's next closest planet in proximity, it has been a common thing since the Leporis System was settled to see companies that advertised charted flights out to see the auroras. Given the almost ridiculous expense of such flights, however, it has never been a frequent thing on the planet before or after the Collapse but the interested rich in the Cluster will sometimes come to the planet just to see the auroras. While there were at least a dozen or more companies pre-Collapse that boasted being able to fly out to Tralfa Prime, post-Collapse there are only two: Nesheim Travel and CCW World Services. Nesheim is the only company that managed to survive the Collapse on the planet and CCW was only established within the last twenty cycles.   While the best views of the auroras are said to be from the surface of the planet itself - at least according to accounts of those who have worked ice harvesting rotations on Tralfa Prime - those who pay for trips there are not allowed such views. Due to the cost of kitting out a ship to survive the conditions as well as providing the appropriate gear to passengers for any just-in-case scenarios, tourists who come to see the auroras are not allowed under any circumstances to land on the planet. This is also because the optimal seasons for auroras are in the middle of the ice harvesting season and companies do not want to get in the way of harvesting.   There is an account of one such incident happening pre-Collapse and it led to the company that chartered the ship going out of business after being sued by TMO Heavy Industrial, one of the companies that employs harvesters on the planet.   Despite the difficulties in seeing them to the average person, those who have worked on Tralfa Prime past and present all say that the auroras are one of the best parts of the job.
