Seven Chainborn (Seh-vn Ch-ayn-born)

I was born a slave...but I broke those chains a long time ago.

Seven was born as the seventh child to a family of the lowest slave caste, Chainborn, and was given the caste name at birth. Due to the lack of education in her family, her naming followed in the example of her other siblings, who were all simply named for the order they were born in.
Like several of her other siblings, she was sold at six years old by the man who owned her parents and thus all of their children: Dothan of the Stonecoins, member of the Pennydown Caste. Sold to the Warslave caste masters, she was bought by the Forgemaster of the Warclan Bastion's Glaive on behalf of the Warclan's Risehigh patron. Once in service to the Clan as a Warslave, Seven was trained as a mechanic to work on the group of mechs that the Clan maintained for the Warfights in the Strana arena.

Appearance

Eventually in one of the Great Melees when she was just over twenty years old, she won the right to fight in it during the Melee within the Clan and won one of the five days of fighting during the Great Melee. Winning one of the five days of fighting earned her one of the rewards that were up for grabs during the fighting: a mech of her own and the right to become a full member of the Clan. There were a few within the Clan who were jealous of a Chainborn rising so high so seemingly quickly in life and did their best to make her life miserable. She was frequently attacked by them, almost completely demolishing any loyalty to the Clan that had developed in her and began plotting an eventual escape from both the Clan and potentially Strana itself.
Six years after she won her mech, Seven killed three of her long-time tormentors during the wee hours of the morning after they nearly drowned her earlier that evening while laughing. Having already planned to leave and with deals already set with a mercenary crew to take her off-planet, she took her mech by force (permanently crippling one of her once fellow mechanics who tried to stop her by stabbing him in the spine) and never looked back.
