Otaklar Agreement
In the year 2250, an army of undead surged over the Daaglar Mountains. The resulting war lasted less than a year, and was officially ended with the signing of the Otaklar Agreement by the Emperor of Galdorloth, and the Queen of Arazi.
Purpose
On it's most basic level, it was made as an agreement to settle a war between Empire of Galdor and Kingdom of Arazi. It has several other agreements and negotiations outlined within, including the aquisition of the Eastern Plains by the Empire, and the outlawing of using armies of undead.
Historical Details
History
When the Emperor of Galdor instructed Kellen Ainenfar to raise an army of undead to take the Eastern Plains for their country, he did so without question, and his army easily won battles all along the Daaglar Mountains. Rather than risk a war and subsequent destruction of the fertile plains that Galdor so desperately wanted as part of his land, the emperor took the Arazi queen to negotiations in the port city of Otaklar. Several conditions were met, the most notable being the Arazi surrender of the plains.
Public Reaction
There had been huge outcry of disdain for the act of using an undead army, from citizens of both involved countries, so the public denouncement and outlawing of such an act was universally well received.
The integration of the eastern plains into Galdorloth was less well received. Citizens of the areas were slow to adapt, and struggled to accept their new leader.
Legacy
Among the long-lasting results of the agreement, one of the more significant one (to our adventures) is the formation of the imperial order of Necrolords. No longer permitted to raise undead, Ainenfar was instead charged with training others in the ancients' magic of life and death, which held so many greater potentials besides just raising zombies.
