Augurer's Coin
Magic Item
Augurer's Coin
Jewelry, Coin
This triangular coin depicts a fair-faced goddess on one side, representing "weal", and a grim specter on the other, representing "woe". "Weal and Woe" is written in Common along the coin's topmost edge.
Whenever a creature dies within 15 feet of you, you can use your reaction to throw the coin at the creature.
It will magically land on the creature's forehead. Roll a d20. On a 10 or less the coin lands on its woe side. The creatures soul is instantly bound into the coin and the body doesn't decay any further for as long as the coin is not destroyed. The Soul can be released by breaking the coin. Once the Soul is released, the coin crumbles to dust.
If the coin is exposed to hellfire, the soul is instantly transfered into the hells and the body decays fully in an instant. If you roll a 11 or higher, the coin lands on its weal side. It than melds into the body of the creature, bringing it back to life on the beginning of their next turn. This effect can’t return to life a creature that has died of old age, nor can it restore any missing body parts.
