The Coral Tower
The tower glistened in the summer sun, rising far above the maw of the Colossus. It's brass contraptions reflected the light and the corals showed that even the sea couldn't turn this symbol of magnificence to ruin. It was my hope that I would find the final answers to my questions here. - Quarrion AramilThe Coral tower rises high above the crest of Undaris's back, standing apart from the jungle and greenery that make up The Leviathan's shell. The tower is considered a sacred place by The Roamers, as it's contraptions hold many secrets that may be intertwined with the animation of the beast that The Roamers rely on so much.
Sacred Offerings
Every Summer solstice, The Roamers make a flamboyant procession that journies from the mass of ships and netting that make up Undaria to The Coral Tower. They lay down various food offerings at the tower's steps, including a single sacred Morgow, which was caught and slaughtered precisely for this purpose. To The Roamers, It is thought that the offerings make their way through the brass tubings of the tower and into Undaris's heart. In reality, the carcasses are most likely simply picked apart by the local wildlife, but The Roamers still believe that the offerings find their way into Undaris's heart. The Machine
A massive brass contraption spans the entirety of the tower, poking through the top and seeming to go deep below where the tower stops, supposedly into the heart of The Colossus. The contraption was used by The Forecomers to harvest Anima and reanimate Undaris, but for what purpose no one is sure of. Further reasearch is nearly impossible due to the tower's sacred significance to The Roamers, and they do not want foreigners to be poking around in the tower that gave them their home.Purpose / Function
This tower appears old and ruined, constructed by an ancient civilization before the animation of Undaris. Gleamed from the ancient contraptions and height of the tower, the building was made to tap into the Anima Mundi, and harness it to animate the dormant Colossus beneath. The Forecomers did so through the use of highly advanced instruments powered by Essentia. In theory, the ingenious contraption would be able to drain Anima directly from the Anima Mundi and store the volatile energy into Essentia crystals, which would provide enough stability to allow the Anima to be channeled downwards and into the Colossus' heart. In a way, the Anima channeling would act as a sort of defibrillation, granting the Colossus the energy it needed to emerge from it's slumber and begin wandering the world once more. However, key instruments appear to be missing from the contraption, and several attempts have continuously failed to replicate this powerful process.
Architecture
The tower is seemingly carved out of pure marble, as if it was carved straight out of a mountain and then dumped into the ocean, as it is also covered by sea-life. Seaweed, barnacles, and corals cover the ancient building. The tower is square, with a pillar on every vertex made from the same marble. It ends in a peaked roof, with a metallic cylinder protruding through the top aimed at the stars.
History
Many secrets and mysteries surround tge history of The Coral Tower. It is hypothesized that the tower may have been constructed by the ancient race known as The Forecomers. However, what the Forecomers' purpose was in reanimating the Colossus, nobody is sure of.
