Aether Pox

The aether pox is an illness as old as life. However, no cure has been found for it. Though rare, It affects people all around Neoria and works in unpredictable ways. It is a cause of concern for all of Neoria and researchers all around the world joined efforts to discover a cure after the Nation's Crumbling.

Transmission & Vectors

Though mostly unknwon, the experts' leading theory is that the illness is transmitted via the aether particles in the air, thus the name of the illness.

Causes

The cause of the Aether Pox is still unknown by today. Moreover, no breaches have been made on the study of this illness' cause in all the story of it's research.

Symptoms

The illness manifests differently depending on the host. Nevertheless, there are some commonalities amongst it hosts. In it's early states patches of white begin covering the skin. The blood of the host turns glowing blue and can be seen through the skin, coursing throught the host's veins. Some patients also manifest attacks of breathing difficulty.

Some cases show alteration of the aether particles around them, causing magical bursts to happen around them. Some hosts even claim to be able to see the aether particles in the air.

Treatment

There is no cure for this illness, but there are ways to ease the most intense symptoms. A pill called aethereen is sold by herbalist's. It helps combat the breathing difficulties, but most people aren't able to afford it.

Prognosis

The outcomes of the illness also vary depending on the host. However, it seems to be mostly non-lethal, though some patients do die. Others just live with the illness for all their lives and in the least of cases it rescinds with time or even totally disappears.

Sequela

Those hosts in which the illness dissapear are known to keep the altered blood color.
