Order of the Ludens
Born in the heart of Dalven, the Luden guild is house to the migthiest of magical warriors of Glaciena. The name of the guild comes from the old elvish word 'ludex' meaning light fused with the word 'ien' meaning warden. This name defines the guild perfectly, light wardens, people that dedicate their lifes to keep the light and banish the shadow. Ludens are trained to protect the citizens of Glaciena and combat corruption from it's very roots. They act as guard captains in every major city in Glaciena and counsel the leaders of those cities while keeping an eye on them, making sure they don't give in to temptations.
The Luden order was founded three years after Magna Bellis by Elletta Hayden a half-elven paladin who spent the years of war trying to strike a truce between elfs and humans. She created the order so that history wouldn't repeat itself and no one had to suffer another war of that magnitude. Elletta was the only member of the Ludens for half a year, until she started achieving amazing feats and gaining renown all across Glaciena, after that everyone wanted to train under her. After five years of hard work, she received the title 'Avatar of Flame' and was granted permission to act inside the court of the Ranginian Empire by the king at the time, Cadoc Caelum.
Nowadays, the order is well established and has headquarters all around the continent of Glaciena. Students come from all over Neoria to take the entry exam but only a few succeed. Those who do, undergo a ritual in which they get a familiar who follows them, and bond with him for life. From that point on their skills are tested constantly with severe tests and lessons focusing on strengthening the mind against arcane arts, learning history and honing their combat prowess.
Structure
The fire-born knights have a command structure organized by squadrons and leader's following this scheme:
- Recruit. The most abundant ranked knights. They work in groups of eight under the orders of a captain. They are assigned simple tasks, like the surveillance of a city or the gathering of information.
- Captain. Lower rank officer who commands a squad of recruits. They can issue orders to their recruits and join them in their operations.
- Enforcer. High rank officer who is dispatched on supervision missions. They are tasked with the surveillance of noble figures so that they don't abuse their power.
- Knight master. Commander of the Luden order in a certain area. They are tasked with the supervision of the operations in that area as well as the report of these operations to the grandmaster.
- Grandmaster. Supervisor of the whole order's operations. Reports from each area are sent to them periodically. In case of an emergency, they are suppossed to command the troops to take down the oppressor force detected.
Public Agenda
The Luden order's only mission is to ensure that corruption cannot take root in the midst of power. Fighting oppression and combating the forces of corrupted figures of authority is of outmost importance to the order.
Assets
Backed by the whole of Glaciena from where each nation allocates part of their defense budget to the Luden order. As a result of this agreement, the order thrives in goods, enough to put an end to corruption.
The order owns fortifications in each major city, as well as, transportation methods, a teleporting circle in each of their fortifications, weapons for their whole battalion and enough troops to face a cities army.
Besides this, the order also has the resources to provide their soldiers with elite training in magic as well as in hand to hand combat.
