Nerellian Centaur
Legendary hunters and skilled warriors, Nerellian centaurs are part man and part horse, who make their homes upon the steps and plaines north of the Tsenian mountains.
These stoic people vary widely in appearance, their skin tones typically appearing deeply tanned but similar to the humans who occupy nearby regions, while their lower bodies borrow the colorations of local equines. Centaur hair and eyes trend toward darker colors and their features tend to be broad, while the overall bulk of their bodies is influenced by the size of the horses their lower quarters resemble. Thus, while an average centaur stands over 7 feet tall and weights upward of 2,000 pounds, there are vast regional variations; from lean plains-runners to burly mountain hunters. Centaurs typically live to be about 60 years old.
A hearty and proud people, Nerellian centaurs live outside of humanoid society, not typically feeling that they fit in with the rest of the peoples of Nerele. Even though they find themselves effected by the same systems that other 'heroic' races of Nerele do, they often find that they stand out for their nearly monsterous appearances, though in more modern times, people have been getting more used to seeing Centaurs due to a few travelers who have taken the form.
Nerellian Centaurs tend to live in tribal communities; with the plains tribes being more nomadic, and the mountain centaur being more settled. The mountain centaur, living in the Tsenian highlands, above the plains of Taisen, have developed a closer connection to the Tsenian Federation, and in some cases, even joined the Federation.
Nerellian Centaur from the Taisen plains tend to be free spirited hunters, traders and warriors; hunting the plentiful heards of elk and buffalo. They see conflict with the Quissian to the north-east, while trading with their stouter highland cousins.
Nerellian centaur from the Tsenian Mountains have become much more settled then their lowland cousins, forming larger groups and settling in the lust mountain vallies. The Tsenian Centaur tend to be larger and more robust then their lowland counterparts, and tend to farm and heard as often as hunt. These centaur have more developed tools, weapons, and armor due to their close ties and some tribes membership in the Tsenian Federation. Tsenian Centaur cities tend to be sprawling affairs with low buildings and lots of open space behind their homes. Warriors of the Tsenian centaur tribes tend to be kitted in heavier, better worked armor and gear than their cousins. They also tend to be more disciplined and straitforward then the free-spirited Taisen centaur.
Taisen centaur often become hunters or tradesmen; with more exceptional kin becoming rangers, druids, and other nature or mobile classes. They don't often venture far from their tribal homes, though warbands may head to the east to protect their lands against Quissian incursions.
Tsenian centaur often become farmers, hearders, or tradesmen; with more exceptional members of the tribes becoming specialized warriors, cavaliers, celestial caster, or even gunslingers.
