The Magi Alliance of Enlightened Futures
Governed by the most powerful Magi scholars in the world, the Alliance of Enlightened Futures is a Jade-run organisation which oversees the education, study, and record-keeping of all Magi in the Kingdom of Jadori.
Structure
The Alliance consists of a council of Primarch Magi, elected from the high court of the current monarch and advised by ambassadors from Jadori settlements. Treasurers oversee the financial distribution in collaboration with the High Treasurer of the court, and the individual head Magi of each district's libraries, schools and archives will be invited to periodic meetings to discuss progress and issues that have not yet been raised.
Culture
While the monarchy is the primary power in Jadori, the Alliance is a well respected power and largely considered the most active branch of the monarchy, capable of overthrowing it in a heartbeat. The Magi, while overseen by the monarchy, are largely self-governed by this Alliance and the monarchy is unlikely to be directly involved with Magi affairs within the kingdom.
Controversy
The Alliance have been criticised over the years for its practices regarding the children within its schools, and the hoarding of information within its libraries. Many believe the schools to be raising children into an extremist worldview, accusing the Alliance of wanting to overthrow the monarchy and expand Jodai into an empire rivalling the Querian. Governments in other countries, especially the Querian court and certain Merinian powers, believe the Jade to be witholding research on Magi that would be invaluable to the future and safety of the world in the interest of supremacy over the other powers. The Alliance has not confirmed nor denied these accusations, remaining instead in relative silence.Public Agenda
The Magi Alliance of Enlighened Futures, as its name suggests, believes itself to be the catalyst of a future in which the 'livable ideal' is achieved in society. The Old Magi are considered by the Alliance to have been powerful scholars, overseeing a world that was far brighter and more enlightened than the one we know today. According to their beliefs, the Alliance seeks to nurture the young Magi of the present and seek to raise the next Magi Lords who will take the Old Magi's mantle and re-awaken the world to its spiritual potential.
History
By the time Magi began appearing across Neria, Jade had already been studying the Old Magi and effects of Éla fallout from the Great Cataclysm. The first Magi to awaken in Jodai were escorted to court under the protection of the King, and taught all information the scholars had discovered thusfar.
Before long the Magi population grew too large to be manageable by the courts alone, and the original Magi joined with scholars to begin brainstorming a way to aid the hundreds of children awakening to their power. By 163N.A. the first Magi boarding schools in Jadori were founded, and in 183N.A. after these schools were proven to be successful in teaching Magi to control and make use of their power, the King granted full funding and resources for the Magi scholars to use as they saw necessary for the development of Magi children and the forwarding of Jade society. By 193N.A. a full network of Magi libraries and boarding schools had been founded, and the Magi Alliance for Enlightened Futures was officially founded.
