First tears spotted in the sky above the Golia Islands in the Magarene Ocean.
There’s some disagreement amongst the scholars and diviners about when the first tears in the sky appeared over the Golia Islands in the middle of the Magarene Ocean. Some claim the rifts tore the sky open the day of the summer solstice in 876 CY (Common Year), a date widely regarded to be too late. Others claim that the winter solstice in 876 CY is more accurate, a date widely regarded to be too early. The gnomish scholars at Gimsbrook University hypothesize that the tears developed slowly, fluctuating in the sky in terms of their size, intensity, and even visibility, but advancing upon the world in a rolling cascade until their fateful crescendo peaked that autumn. Their theory is the kind of compromise that explains the most firsthand accounts, but satisfies the fewest interested parties.
