Red Iron

Red Iron was thought to just be a weaker form of Iron, that is until the dwarves of Kar'Inorn mastered its true potential. 
The Red Iron itself while not as durable as normal Iron it is more maliable and less brittle making it easier to craft. All the while the Red Iron also had an innate resistance to rust after it is forged. 
The dwarves also learned they can coat other material in Red Iron dust to protect it from the elements. This protection will ensure that armor, weapons, and structures almost never rust.
