Pyre Glaa
The nation of Pyre Glaa has been a democracy for over 300 years. It taxes it's people little and uses income from selling magical and technological research to fight its two front war on the Dead continent and Afrea. While it's citizens are not segregated by traditional means, all of the most successful individuals in their field end up working for the Glaan government in some way and move to either Pyrexia city or Glanforth, the two largest cities in tha nation, with neither being considered the capitol in any official capacity. From powerful mages, to renowned smiths, and accomplished researchers, most noteworthy individuals end up working for the Pyre Glaa government, at least by proxy under employ of the guilds. For this reason, many seek to better themselves and refine their skills to the best of their ability before beginning work for the guilds, as those individuals joining with extraordinary ability already are compensated extremely well. Those seeking combat can join the hunting guild to clear the more aggressive native pests from areas around large cities to better their skills. Public libraries make it relatively easy to become a scholar through self study, although the most recent and cutting edge research comes at a steep cost from the Glaan government, typically through the alchemical or engineering guilds. Although the various magic focused researchers make their fair share of new advacements as well.
