Rot Wyrm
Once proud and intelligent dragons, these creatures now only hold onto their basic instincts to find a den and hunt anything it believes itself able to kill. On the rare occasion a creature of the Myst is able to kill a dragon, which is typically only via overwhelming numbers in large hordes, they will tear its wings from its back and drink the blood, but leave the corpse. While dragon corpses do not rot, the affects of the myst give it the appearance of being covered in rotting flesh, as its skin is pulled tight to its bones, and in some places opens up to reveal ribs and discolored flesh. Despite this appearance of rot, the corpse will never have a foul odor.
After the body is sufficiently corrupted, usually over the course of several years or more, the dragon's corpse will rise again, as a rot wyrm. This undead dragon will continue to grow as if alive, but only in length unlike living dragons. Every several feet of growth, a new pair of legs also grows to support its weight. This means the oldest rot wyrms are many hundreds of feet long with many dozens of legs. On Neternus, they are almost always found in deep caves or entide ruins. Sleeping for months at a time, coiled into disgusting piles of bones and flesh until they are stirred by something entering their den. Some have even been known to weave vast webs of mucus through their caves which they use to detect prey. Even have their legs extend and calcify until they nearly resemble a spider leg. It is currently unknown why the myst has these arachnid or centipede like tranformative effects on dragons or if there are other examples of this.
