Neu Hev'n

The 4th day of the month of Winterfall 1387, Nue Calendar   Welcome traveler, to Neu Hev'n, city of stench and squalor. City of unimaginable wealth and splendor. Where slums and shantytowns exist just down the hill from palatial villas. Capital of the Jonus Autocracy, Nue Hev'n is a fairly young city. It was founded by a small religious sect called the Hev'ners, as a village for communal farming, and living on the 8th day of Summerrise 1028 N.C. They planted their village north of the the banks of the Jonus river. The village grew slowly for many years. On the 19th day of Springstay 1098, a traveling merchant who's name has been lost to history, discovered gold down stream from the the pious and humble Hev'ners. For better or worse, I'll let you be the judge, Nue Hev'n would soon change forever.   From all over Jonus, and far afield as well, came those seeking fortune, and those who possessed it already. The poor flooded in from desperation, lured by the promise of a better life. The rich came in promise of having even more wealth. The Hev'ners, try as the might could neither convert the needy to their way, nor make the corrupt lords and merchants repent.
