Winters Watch

The Winter's Watch is a clandestine guild working to protect Neverwinter from threats both within and from the local region in order to ensure peace during its current Cold War with Luskan to the north. They swear allegiance to Neverwinters people and their own chapter house while working in slight autonomy.

History

Conceptualized and founded around the year 1345 DR, The Watch is the brainchild of local hero and adventurer, Doran Underhill.
As part of a local Adventurers Guild most of his life, Doran was inspired by the guilds exploits in protecting Neverwinters walls from dangers on a smaller scale over the years. These individual adventures amounted to what Doran felt was a far more effective and important way of protecting Neverwinter from dangers often overlooked as larger threats to the people than military action. It was obvious that Neverwinter was more than capable of protecting itself from large scale invasions and war but, ill equiped to mobilize against threats within her own walls or locally that required more specialized tactics, knowledge and skill sets.

Using his local infamy and heroics to gain a court with Nasher and The Many-Starred Cloaks, Underhill made a bid for The Winters Watch as a way to have a constant rotation of adventurers who could work toward suppressing both cloak and dagger activity along with monstrous threats. It would ultimately be a way of alleviating the weight of duty from the city watch, Grey Cloaks and The Many-Starred. It was received with applause from all present.

A Badge of The Winters Watch. Used for identifying other members and a way to alert those aware of them of the importance of their work.
