New Age of Heroes

Vigilantes — masked or otherwise — have been around for centuries; all that has ever been necessary are an inadequate system of justice and a few exceptional people who have cared enough about it to do something. It's the mentality, in some ways, of so many protagonists from popular films and novels. And, yes, comic books. So, what makes an individual exceptional? And, more importantly, is the rise of vigilante justice a good thing?   The question that has been on everyone's mind for the last few decades will eventually need to be answered: what do we do now? Accept these superhumans? Register them like second-class citizens — or weapons? Then, making a decision, we'll need to implement it. And if superhumans resist, will we be able to force them? Regardless, the fact remains that an answer must be arrived at. Because as we all know, not all superhumans are superheroes.
