Emma's Herd
A group of women, girls really, previously enslaved by an inn that caters to Vampires, known colloquially through Venice as the Fangs Inn, who were stolen by Emma Valgard as she first began her time in Venice in December of 1552.
Structure
The group has no structure, no real leadership, and most of that is because of time. The group is too new when they are first formed in Venice. During their trip to France, their time in Amiens, Abbeville, and Saint-Valerie-sur-Somme, Juliana pushed herself into prominence. Emma has yet to designate a leader for the Herd, though.
Culture
Emma's herd had no shared culture, the seven girls could barely communicate basic tasks to each other and few spoke the same language when they were in Venice. This led to isolationist cliques based on language barriers and perceived slights stemming from those barriers. The most honest thing one could have said is that Emma's Herd's only culture was practiced immaturity by broken girls.
Then, in France, Emma began a period of education and skill training. The girls became domestically skilled at keeping a house and learned (Old) French. Emma raised them to the status of maids in her "noble house" as she pretended to be Emma II of Normandy, a descendant of Emma of Normandy and named for her.
Assets
Teodor has agreed to tailor each girl a warddrobe of clothing, workable clothes mostly, for a hefty price. Aside from that, the girls had nothing but ragged clothing and a nice chemise provided by Teodor's people during their time in Venice.
By the time they reached France, the effects of malnourishment had been alleviated and the wardrobes of common but useful clothing put into use. During their stay in France, each girl was given gifts and mementos by would-be suitors and purchased several outfits and accoutrements with their pay.
History
In December of 1552, Emma Valgard visited Venice to update her wardrobe at Teodor's shop. During her stay in Venice at the Fangs Inn, Emma stopped a large woman from beating her retainer, Grace. However, Emma stopped the act with an act of power of a Vampiric nature and unfortunately the Inn's slave-girls witnessed it. Rather than leave witnesses, or kill these unfortunate girls, Emma took them on as her own personal herd, freeing the girls by force and escaping into the night...
The Herd spent three months in Venice as guests of Teodor and his retinue. During this time Emma built a relationship of care with the girls, feeding only once a week from each girl and urging them to rest and recuperate between weekly sessions. Then Emma left Venice, and the girls expected to be left behind, bereft. Instead they were outfitted in good clothing and given luggage and left with her.
A few months later, they are in France. A lot happens in France.
