Episode 3: Meet the Fan
General Summary
We begin in Media Res. What happened? How long has it been?
Carin
Carin's on a boat, a yacht, alone. In the middle of Lake Michigan in a storm. She's been badly beaten and seen terrifying things in the last few hours. She's not even sure if she's real.
It wasn't real; it was all a dream. She dreamt that she was in the game the D&D group was playing at the house. She had been heavily involved with the game, she formed the group.
Lydia
Lydia's missing time. She now knows she's been kidnapped, drugged, and left to die in steel plant in Chicago. Her only clue is a Blackberry she found at the scene in the Crucible behind her in line.
Inigo
Inigo was hired to steal an orb in small chest from a Necromancer named Doctor Death (obvious bad guy), who resides outside Chicago, by The Usher, a member of the Chicago Mages. Doctor Death then tracked him down, drugged, then poisoned, and then tortured him to get him to talk but Inigo escaped through a mirror, something the Necromancer didn't know he could do.
What happened in between is a mystery.
But Inigo comes to and doesn't remember anything. It's all a haze of strange smoke and burning liquid, his "name" is written (poorly) on a nametag. His body is dying, poisoned by whatever he drank, smoked, or ingested, and he lies in the heavy Autumn rain.
He wandered to the Wendy's nearby and collapsed. Wendy was there ready to help. She and the McCabal helped heal him and acted like they were friends. They healed him, "paying back one they owed him," and helped him home.
Mick
Mick borrowed money from a mysterious group of 1920's style mobsters for his business venture. He never paid it back. Now, his arm's broken, They know everything, and he's in a deep freezer. It's fight or flight time, as Mick's higher functions slow and start to stop.
Mick broke every bone in his arm and used a Contract to wreck the doors and escape. He jumped from the moving truck onto the hood of an SUV before passing out from shock.
