William
The first Childe of Hiram, William was Embraced before the custom of the Meat Market. Like the other children of Hiram, William was Sired with potency inherent in his Blood. Though he and Hiram rarely fight, William has often taken an opposing view to whatever his Sire chooses to do. In 1920, William even challenged Hiram for the role of Prince. He lasted a night, on the second night he called an emergency Elysium and handed power back to Hiram, who has gone unchallenged ever since. As William is ever the Iconoclast, in 1971 on his centennial death-day, William took an Avus and became a member of the newly arrived Galloi much to his Sire's annoyance.
It was a choice William grew to regret, as his Avus had manipulated him and not told him of the Galloi's weakness, merely their Bane. On learning what he had become, he swore he would never Embrace again, and that the Avus would pay for his duplicity. William immediately went into a voluntary Torpor, and is sleeping away the strength in his blood. His family remember him fondly in modern nights, just as they remember the duplicitous seduction of the Galloi. All but three Galloi chose to fight on behalf of the Avus when the Prince ordered his arrest, and they now rest with him in the Tombs, sentenced to centuries of Encasement. Those three Galloi lamented the actions of their Line and begged for mercy. Hiram granted it, one time. Any further duplicity in their actions regarding their bloodline will bring them ruin and Encasement.
