Gorgons

Most people are familiar with the myth of Medusa, a woman cursed by the olympian gods to a horrific appearance which would petrify any who gazed upon her into stone. The myth has been reinterpreted and altered over time, but at its core is a woman abused by the powerful.
What the myths do not remember is how she took back her power. The legendary Medusa was a cursed mortal, but the power that she gained was elemental in nature. Through the decades she learned what that meant for her lifespan and how she could share her power with others. Rather than live as a victim, Medusa claimed her curse as a gift and now many elemental Gorgons can be found. While most still live in and around Türkiye, Gorgons live on every continent. To an individual they are unyielding and defiant to authority, owing to the lessons of Medusa herself.
