Kalim Labs in League City, Texas is home to numerous extraterrestrial artifacts recovered by NASA and other space programs from across the globe. Officially they specialize in analysis of such materials and their potential manufacturing value.
Unofficially Kalim Labs is controlled by the Stareach organization, a group of wizards and like-minded patrons who seek to expand magical understanding by exploring beyond the physical constraints of Earth. There are many who believe them to be more cult than magical order, but they nevertheless count many wealthy and powerful supernaturals among their number and have the ear of countless more besides.
The labs themselves expand well beyond the League City facilities that are publicly known, with warehouses, satellite labs, and other facilities spread across the southern US and south into Mexico and Latin America. They do extensive magical experiments about which they are extremely secretive, leading to all the more gossip and conspiracy theories to surround them. Some are even true.
