Morloks
There are endless disagreements regarding what precisely the Morloks are, ranging from the meritless assertions of racist eugenicists to divine declarations. Yet like all discussions regarding groups of sentient beings, the only positions with an iota of legitimacy are those which include the people being discussed.
This is perhaps why the Morloks are so poorly understood, for they are ostracised by nearly all other groups both within the supernatural community and without. The council officially refuses to recognize them as a distinct group of magical beings. Without official recognition Morloks are frequently either left completely out of supernatural society or at best are considered human mutates.
The Morkloks themselves are generally unable to live within mortal society owing to their physical differences which are highly difficult to conceal. They appear at first as humans but with skin sagging off their bodies and discolored. Closer inspection reveals jutting bony protrusions along their torso, extended fingers which are sometimes webbed, as well as oversized teeth and eyes relative to the rest of their bodies. Morloks are adapted to living in lightless, subterranean conditions and are actively pained by bright light and ambient heat.
Most large cities include groups of Morloks living separately from other beings, both supernatural and mortal, though they do trade and have mostly positive relations with the Anthropomorphs, who experience similar exclusion from supernatural society.
