First Hellian Crusade

The First Hellian Crusade was a conflict that took place directly after The Hellish Invasion, in which the Devil King Purloin tried to enact revenge for his kingdoms previos defeat. It lasted for several decades and ended in early 2553 with the defeat of Purloin. The war notably took place alongside the Human-Triumvirate War. Humanity had by this time built their own interstellar empire, under the government of the United Earth Government (UEG). Scientific advancements continued, and one of the results of these endeavours was Project: PRAETORIAN - Humanity's first successful attempt at creating augmented super soldiers.

The Conflict

Prelude

During its period of recovery, the realm of Hell and its inhabitant Devils were without leadership. At numerous times, different Devils came forth declaring rulership, only to be challenged by others for the same position. This continuous cycle of bloodshed finally came to an end when the strongest amongst them, a powerful Devil named Purloin, successfully rose to the throne. With him he had a huge following which only grew the more his influence spread throughout the realm, until every Devil that lived in Hell pledged allegiance to him at last. With his son Endymion as his right hand man, Purloin began to make preparations for a Hellian Crusade against Heaven itself.

Deployment

Alongside the crusade, Humanity found themselves at war against an alien faction called "The Triumvirate". Many worlds fell as the UDF rose to halt their aggressive expansion into UEG territory. Unfortunately, most of these attempts were unsuccessful due to the Triumvirate's superior technological and military might. The only effective means of combat the UDF had against them were the Praetorians, though their ground victories rarely ever carried over to space warfare.
In the midst of the war, the UEG was informed of the Hellian Crusade's attack on Heaven. Already being engaged in one war, the UDF were unable to delegate most of their resources towards helping the Angels. The Naval Intelligence Agency (NIA) of the UEG was thus tasked with handpicking assets that they could spare to help Heaven with its own war effort.
Among these assets was a specific Praetorian known as Aaron-157, who aided against Hell by covertly leading squads of Elite Commandos into Hell’s territory and tactically disrupt the devils' plans. During his time fighting alongside the Supernaturals, he became well acquainted with the remaining Heroes of Old. Through a series of lucky circumstances, Humanity managed to secure a victory against the Triumvirate, and the alien faction wouldn't be seen for a few years.

Aftermath

By 2553, a final and brutal conflict resulted in Heaven's victory over the Demons. Purloin mysteriously disappeared and as a result, Endymion was forced to take his father's place as King. Unable to cope with the burden of leadership, Endymion travelled to an uncharted region of space where he discovered the mummified body of an ancient being referred to as Armageddon
