Beacon Elecs Bit

Beacon Elecs of the Gallivant is an infinitely curious woman, with a particular interest in all things forgotten, especially language. While her training instructed her to be respectable and responsible, the lesson she learned was that people should think you're respectable and responsible; it is sometimes better to lie and deceive if it improves your chances of success. Of course, if people discover your dishonesty, it could damage your reputation and chances of success in the future, so it's best to speak the truth even while you're deceiving them. As Beacon, Elecs wears a mask that she crafted herself. She found the structure for it during her Beacon-initiation within ancient ruins, and fashioned it into a fox design using various materials she had gathered beforehand. What she hadn't realised - initially - is that the structure she uses as the baseline for her mask contains an AI called LAURA - Local Analysis and Universal Restoration Agent. LAURA allows Elecs to use the various ancient tech she has gathered over time in ways that few people can, from projecting holograms and generating energy blasts to controlling nanobots capable of generating temporary physical objects. The result is that Elecs appears to have a deeper understanding of the world, while she herself is uncertain how her own abilities work - precisely. That is not to say she is ignorant; she is well aware that her understanding of LAURA and her own tech is limited and she is working hard to learn more. One of the obstacles to her deeper understanding is that LAURA's voice and her HUD are programmed in a language that Elecs does not speak. While Elecs' fascination with language predates her meeting LAURA, this linguistic barrier has given her an enigma to be unravelled.

As a Beacon, Elecs has a sworn Lantern to protect her. When she first became Beacon, her uncle Elyan was willing and able to take up this role. Elyan had previously been a Beacon himself, but could not continue down that path after a personal tragedy. Since Elecs had lost both her parents - including Elyan's sister - he took her under his wing, and becoming her Lantern was the logical next step. Since Elyan had become a bit of an outcast amongst the priesthood of the Fluteskip, he and Elecs were sent to the Gallivant mostly to get them out of the way. When they found Harmony, however, Elyan needed to return to the Fluteskip and share the tales of this promised new home. This left Elecs without a Lantern, so she chose Rohan. After seeing him defeat a skilled opponent in one-on-one combat in a matter of seconds, she knew she had made the right choice. Unfortunateley for Rohan, he missed a few important conversations that cemented his appointment.
