Summary

Since the shattering of Phoebe, and the sealing of the other gods, the splendoro created through Phoebe's heart all went wild.
They would bring nothing but misfortune to every single person they came across. Not even formerly respected splendoro would be spared this new assumption.
This logic taken to extremes even led to some citizens completely renouncing any faith they had in the Celestial Bureau.

Historical Basis

After the increase in crime and the Underlanders' swelling in ranks, people began to assume anyone with superhuman powers was automatically untrustworthy.
It did not help that the previous superhuman mayors were colossally incompetent leaders; the first running away, and the second one being a stuck up lazy bum.
The resentment felt by the general populace led them to believe Nuwa's creations were tainted by demonic forces that would inevitably lead them to ruin. The resulting utter contempt for superhumans also caused a self-fulfilling prophecy for many splendoro, who either gave up or decided to go to the Underlands.

Spread

The conspiracy theory got its foothold in New Luoyang, New Beihai, and other large cities within Tangguo.

Variations & Mutation

There are two major variants of this conspiracy theory.
One simply distrusts anyone who professes a link with the Underlands, Ludwig Zhou, or the five bad brothers.
The other more common assumption is to assume every splendoro is bad by default.
