CORVUS COLOSSEUM

A powerful magic traveling circus/arena fight. It appears in areas of strife and tension to offer favors and magical loot to those willing to put their life on the line. It seems to have powerful connections to the Raven Queen.   The Colosseum appears overnight in an area selected by the circus. Magical signs and modified architecture molds itself throughout the pitch of night. Come morning, a fully staffed arena is prepared.   They then begin putting the following message in the sky, with some variations to the appearing depending on the area it appears in. It will cycle through different languages common in the area.   "COME ONE COME ALL, SURVIVORS, ADVENTURERS, AND ANYONE LOOKING TO PIT LIFE AGAINST LOOT."
"THE RAVEN'S NEST OPENS AND CLOSES AT SUNRISE."
"YOUR WILDEST DREAM, LIFESAVING GIFTS, OR EVEN A TICKET TO PARADISE"
"ALL LEVELS OF MAGIC AND STRENGTH WELCOME, WE PROMISE A FAIR FIGHT"
PCs can join this circus to earn loot according to their level and level of risk. PCs who do not wish to fight can opt to go into the bleachers and possibly bet gold and max HP on different events.   In some cases, individuals from the local area will be kidnapped and forced into the ring in survival type rounds that the audience can bet on. These often face animals or natural threats from the local area. The Raven Queen is much more lenient about reviving these killed individuals if they fought well enough.

Rules

If you opt to participate in any event, you are taken into the fighter's rooms, and cleansed of all temporary magical effects, before being placed in powerful abjurative cells. These cells are antimagic, and do not allow any communications in or out unless the circus allows it. These cells take the form of whatever accomodations would make sense in the area, with Inns inexplainably growing to be twice as large on the inside to accomdate prospective champions. You can return to your companions upstairs after your fight is done. This is to prevent magical influence on fights and to stop contestants from scouting future competition. Everyone goes into the fights without knowing much about their opponent.

Events:

Arena Fights:

A wide variety of combat events in the center of the colosseum. Contestants are grouped according to their power level by the Raven Queen's Representative. Game Modes are randomly chosen, and not every fight carries the risk of death. If you impress the Raven Queen enough and are still killed, there is a chance of being revived or becoming a permanent employee of the colosseum. No magical interference is allowed from the audience (with some game mode exceptions), except for bardic inspiration. Rewards are given to anyone who wins a fight, with subsequent wins or wins against the odds giving powerful long term boons.

Consquence Fights:

As the events of the cirucs go on, the fights become higher and higher stakes. There is one series of Consequence Fights that removes the skill cap and anyone can join. A standard tournament bracket of 1v1s is followed. However a loss in any of these events (capture the flag included) forfeits something of great value to the contestant to the Raven Queen. The grand winner of these Consequence fights is given a wish from the Raven Queen.

The Queen's Favor:

Anything goes, you are given an audience of the entire stadium, the workers, and the Raven Queen herself. Do whatever you wish to earn her favor. This can be song, dance, fighting, a rousing speech, or a plea for help. Displease her and there will be penalties. Those who earn her favor well receive a boon.

Raven Riddles:

A series of challenges to test the wisdom and intelligence of users. Anyone can join, and you can join in groups. But the prize may not be easily sharable amongst everyone.

Airing of Greivances:

An time to speak with everyone else in attendance and speak any public declarations from the center of a pedestal in the colosseum. Everyone will be given a turn if they wish. No prizes
