Session 4: Down to Arcanatown

General Summary

The group leaves towards Arcanatown, hoping to get there before dark. They are given some new companions, Octavius the kobold healer (James), and a Drangolin companion who the kobolds use to make tunnels. Kaja agrees to be the caretaker.   Shettirrot rejoins the group after his escapade. He left in the night and we rolled for his encounter. He rolled to encounter Fenwick (Authors note: For fucks sake John). He runs into him in the magical museum in old town, and they have a surprisingly eager and happy reunion. He has to leave early because another party arrives at the museum to fight Fenwick.   The party drew for two random encounters:   1. Encounter with a distraught Leonin in plate armor and roaming through the wreckage This is Sir Dewalt, who has arrived too late to stop Fenwick. He is distraught and picking through the wreckage of a church. He feels personally responsible for all of this. He informs the party that Fenwick is the name of the person who dropped the comet on the city. Upon learning that Shethirrot the plasmoid is the 'son' of Fenwick, cautions the party about his danger and learns that Fenwick is at the museum, running over to hopefully stop him. He gives Francisco Presto a health potion. He also informs the group that they were also tracking the The Black Iron Pact a while ago but its unconfirmed if they are in New Mystra.   The group then crosses the River, and Hoo is able to help find a nearby tavern with some clean drinking water that Anton pours into the bag of holding.   2. A house still standing AND with all its glass intact. It appears to have a magical aura on the inside.   This is a mimic house that has grown itself after surviving the shockwave. It was released from a portal or something?? Will be very unclear to the players because upon entering this house will get assaulted by the walls. The door will start by dissapearing, triggering the combat once everyone is inside. This will be a mix of 1 Large Mimic from Flee Mortals with about 7 mimic minions scattered in different rooms. Salt shakers, cups, coats, doorknobs but not doors, shoes but not shoe mats.   The house is one large mimic, two floors tall and slashing deeper parts inside of it can damage it more. I.e. anyone in the kitchen can attack the boiler room for more damage. It cannot multi attack, but will use the lair action rules from Tasha's for mimic colonies.   We roll a d10 whenever the players interact with something in the house, chance of being a mimic, mimic minion, or weak magical item depending on their luck   The fight starts off ok it got worse the longer it went on   They injure the house but then both Hoo and Shettirrot drop and are enveloped by the house. Quick thinking from the party allows them to break free both of them and get them outside of the house with some difficulty. Kaja almost is trapped in the house but thankfully breaks out thanks to the party's Drangolin companion.   Frankie saves Hoo from dying with the health potion Sir Dewalt gave them.   Finally they are able to escape the kitchen window, before Octavius the kobold warlock killed the house with an eldritch blast.     The group decides to settle in for a long rest in the ruins of a house around 6pm.   Session end date: 5th day of the 10th month at 6pm
