The Infinite Wastes
This is an impassible desert. No one's ever gotten across, even though many have tried. This is the scar on the world, that was left by forgotten times...
❝The war of the old world has left a terrible scar on our world. That is it's last tendril, gripping at our memories. It doesn't want to be forgotten. We will always remember what they did to us, and from it we shall learn. We cannot forget.❞ -King Emir Raylindal, in the Beginning. On a map, this desert may not seem so large as it really is. In the grand scheme of things, it is but a sliver of land covered in sand. But this sandy land is much larger than the eye can see. It's almost as if it...moves and expands when someone travels across it. You can take one step in there, and three steps later you can't see where you came from. All around you is endless sand and dust. The sandstorms are pretty bad here, too. They sneak up on you at a moment's notice, blinding you with sandgrains being tossed up in the air like lettuce in a salad. The winds are so strong that they have been known to pick people up and carry them through the air. Nothing grows here, not even the most resilient grasses. Nothing wants to be here, not even the dragons will dare fly over this place, and have any hope to see the free world again. This place will suck you in, and it will not let you out. It seems that the only thing that enjoys being in this wasteland is the sun. It does not spare anything when shining down on the cracked ground. You can bake a cake with it just sitting out in the sunshine. The wind, too, may seem as if it wants to be there, tormenting the ground with it's volleys of sand. But sometimes, it blows so haphazardly that you might think that it is trapped here, just like everything else that comes within it's vice-like grip. The only people who have crossed the boundaries of these badlands -and found someone to tell the tale to- are the Dundrain nomads. They travel in camps and caravans, and know this land like the backs of their hands. Yet even they will only dare stick a toe across the boarders. If you're desperate to win a hide-and-go-seek game, this is the place to go. Just don't expect the game to be over, ever.
Geography
Sand... sand everywhere. No hills, no mountains, no seas. Only sands, piles of sands, sand dunes, and sand lakes. Dirt and dust in the air. No moisture anywhere.
Localized Phenomena
The land will expand or contract upon itself to look larger or smaller in areas. All surrounding geography is made unseen by the dust and dirt flying in the air. Almost as if the land itself doesn't want to be forgotten...
