Central Cathedral

The Central Cathedral is the Church of Gold's new headquarters. Central Cathedral was built by the Gilded Heirophant Darius Ryker to replace the old Cathedral, which was severely damaged by a terrorist attack seven years ago. The Cathedral is an enormous Gothic church made of heavy brown stone. It's one of the most opulent buildings in the city, with many large stained glass windows, mosaics, and gilding all throughout the sanctuary. It's also one of the Church's only locations without an attached bank, but the upper floor has a few conference rooms and staff offices. The attached rectory is the home of Sadiyah, the elusive Prophet of Platinum, although it's surprisingly rare to see her around the church.

Notably, all the employees here are humans, but anyone is welcome to come worship or tour the sanctuary.

History

After the original Cathedral was nearly destroyed in 105 ENZ, resulting in the death of the Gilded Lady and the former Gilded Heirophant vonArran, this Cathedral was built as a replacement and a symbol of the Church growing stronger and more opulent in the face of adversity. It was completed in 112.

Points of interest

• There is a large statue out front of the former Prophet, the Gilded Lady.
• The stained glass window above the pulpit in the sanctuary is a recreation of the one in the old Cathedral.
• It is located in the heart of Third's financial district, so it's a notable location within a commercial hotspot in the city.

Tourism

• This is the home of the Prophet of Platinum, and workplace of the Gilded Heirophant. Many tourists hope to catch a glimpse of these celebrities.
• The cathedral is the center of the Church, and worshippers frequently make pilgrimages here. It's said that worshiping here, specifically, brings especially good fortune, so many local businesspeople will pray here before making important financial decisions.
• There are guided art and history tours almost every day. People are drawn to the beauty and obscene opulence of the place.
