Piloting Vehicles
Vehicles and stationary defenses that can be operated by players will display an option to enter the cockpit when approached. Entering a vehicle zooms the camera out, giving the player a wider, birds-eye view. Vehicles can be exited at any time by pressing the appropriate input. All movement and weapon operations are controlled by the pilot. Players cannot enter the cockpit of a vehicle that is already occupied by a pilot. They can, however, board as a passenger on select craft.
Vehicles can be used for quick movement, transporting materials or other players, or as a weapon. Their built-in munitions are usually particularly powerful, and they can be used to ram objects as well to cause collision damage. Several craft are also equipped with a secondary action as well as countermeasures.
Vehicles do not require fuel, so holding the Accelerate input will power the craft up to its maximum standard speed indefinitely. Some craft are equipped with boosters to travel even faster at a cost of maneuverability. Thrusters can be used until their charge runs out at which point it needs to recharge before being used again.
The following ground craft can be piloted in Nexus:
- CoyoteRecon Craft
- Grizzly Utility Vehicle
- Pangolin Personnel Carrier
- Tiger Artillery Turret
- Mammoth Assault Tank
- Roc Land Speeder
- Naga Tactical Interceptor
- Viper Artillery Tower
