Praetorians

Thralls who prove themselves in battle can become specially trained Praetorians that are the most elite and dangerous warriors in the Carnax military arsenal. They exhibit great physical prowess and require extreme caution. Praetorian’s cannot be defeated by direct, brute force. They always appear in one of several variants, each with their own abilities and strategies to defeat. Each type can be identified with unique symbols next to their health bar as well as distinct visual differences. All Praetorians also have a slight aura as well to indicate their special status.

Zealot

Praetorian Zealots have a large amount of damage reduction and can only be defeated by destroying several weak spots that change location on their bodies. Initially, Zealots have a glowing point of armor either on one of their legs, arms, or chest which can be destroyed. After breaking the point, the Venator has no vulnerable spot for a few seconds while the next point generates on one of the other previous locations. After destroying three weak points, they lose damage reduction and can be attacked anywhere.

Predicant

Praetorian Predicants are nearly invincible unless attacked while standing in an aura they create. Predicants do not move and launch large energy explosives at their enemies. Occasionally, they will charge up and launch a special explosion which leaves behind a glowing ring for a short period. Standing in this area applies a special buff which allows the Predicant to be damaged.

Celebrant

Praetorian Celebrants are resistant to damage and constantly teleport short distances, making them difficult to attack. While shielded, they glow. However, they occasionally stop to recharge their defenses. During this short period, they no longer glow or teleport, opting to move slowly. Additionally, they will no longer have damage reduction, becoming vulnerable to damage until they stop moving entirely, recharge for several seconds, and replenish their shield.
