Shatter Classifications

The Shatter exists in a variety of subtypes that have their own strengths, weaknesses, and special properties.

Queen Spawn

Red Queen Spawn crystals are the primary source of Shatter reproduction. They procreate by splitting their cells at an alarming rate and are heavily defended. Because they are able to create additional crystals so readily, they will emit massive barrages towards any threat.

Zircon

Clear Zircon crystals are exceptionally strong, forming the core structures of The Shatter. They are the most generally resilient among their crystal variations. Only a select few weapons or energies can effectively damage or shatter them. With enhanced durability, Zircon is resistant to physical damage. It is weak against high-energy attacks and explosive forces.

Veridian

Green Viridian crystals have regenerative properties, allowing The Shatter to heal and repair their physical form rapidly. Damage inflicted on The Shatter may be reversed if their Veridian healing nodes remain intact. Interrupting or destroying these nodes can disrupt their regenerative abilities.

Amethystine

Purple Amethystine crystals possess unique defensive abilities. They create an energy field around The Shatter, granting an additional layer of protection against certain types of attacks, such as energy-based assaults. Amethystine’s barrier can be nullified by attacking directly with physical damage.

Emberlite

Blue Emberlite crystals are highly volatile and capable of unleashing intense bursts of thermal energy. When shattered, they explode in a beautiful azure blaze, engulfing nearby targets and causing significant damage. They often are positioned where they would be in the direct line of fire. Extreme caution is necessary when confronting them. Emberlite’s explosive reaction can be mitigated by attacking with any anti-thermal damage.

Umbral

Black Umbral crystals generate a powerful magnetic field that can manipulate metal objects and disrupt electronic systems. This can cause failure of certain systems and the ability to repel metal projectiles, making traditional ranged attacks ineffective. Umbral crystals and those they protect are vulnerable to energy-based weaponry or melee damage.

Aetherium

Iridescent Aetherium is the rarest of all Shatter crystals and has particularly interesting and dangerous properties. They reflect back all energy attacks towards them, make all surrounding crystals much stronger, and are so strong and sharp that they cause immense destructive damage. They have no particular weakness, but it is recommended to engage with extreme caution.
