The Brotherhood

The Brotherhood is a powerful and secretive organization that serves as a collective front for various criminal outfits within Bastion. Composed of several syndicates all vying for supremacy over the others, the Brotherhood operates with a hierarchical structure, enforcing strict loyalty with severe repercussions among its members. It is led by a small council of influential crime lords, each representing a different group within the greater organization. These crimelords range from masterminds of cybercrime and political subterfuge to ruthless thieves and cunning assassins.
  The Brotherhood consists of multiple syndicates, each specializing in different criminal activities such as smuggling, extortion, weapon trafficking, hacking, assassinations, and more. Each operate independently, but they unite under the Brotherhood's banner for mutual benefit and power. The organization's influence extends throughout Bastion and in parts of Luna with control over all illicit operations between the two. They maintain a web of connections including a number of corrupt officials which allows them to manipulate and exploit numerous aspects of society.
  Despite their shared collective identity, rivalries and power struggles exist. Syndicates compete for control and territory, sometimes resulting in internal conflicts. However, the organization maintains a delicate balance, as betraying the Brotherhood has dire consequences. Their extensive resources and vast, intricate web of contacts and operatives make them a constant source of struggle for the authorities and the peace of the city.
  Members of the Brotherhood are more concerned with furthering their criminal enterprise than combat, so they generally do not carry heavy munitions. However, they move quickly and take cover often, making them formidable opponents.
 

Henchman

Henchmen are plentiful subordinates in the Brotherhood. They do not wear any special armor or stylish clothing, but they do have portable field emitters that grant them an Barrier for protection. Armed with nothing more than a sidearm, they carry out most tasks on behalf of their syndicates with little resistance.
 

Thug

Thugs are large ruffians who wear heavy armor and reinforced masks. They are enforcers of the Brotherhood's goals, carrying out their more violent operations. Thugs are equipped with shotguns and heavy gauntlets for close quarters combat. They use their fist weapons to block most projectile attacks and are briefly open to counterattack.
 

Goon

Well-trained operatives, Goons are soldiers for the Brotherhood. They wear black suits with reinforced titanium threading and armored masks allowing them to look professional while protected. They carry sub machine guns and concussion grenades which they throw at their enemies from a distance. They move very quickly and take cover often, making them difficult to target.
 

Butcher

The largest and perhaps most dangerous criminals in the entire Brotherhood are Butchers; special operatives who are assigned to high-risk operations that require ruthlessness and intimidation. They are large and imposing, equipped with heavy combat armor stolen from AEGIS military forces. Butchers stay true to their name by carrying a large ax as well as a grenade launcher for ranged combat.
 

Executioner

Executioners are similar to Butchers in that they are large and intimidating soldiers who wear full suits of advanced armor. However, they are slow and generally stationary, carrying a large, handheld machine gun that they use to lay constant, suppressive fire.
 

Gangster

Gangsters are often involved in intimidation, extortion, and other activities that don’t often require direct combat. They are charismatic, wearing stylish and vibrant clothing as well as an intimidating mask. Their appearance is misleading as they are equipped with sidearms, energy knives, and a portable Ballistic energy shield generator that dramatically increases damage reduction, making them difficult to take down despite their unassuming presence. However, their shielding only lasts for 30 seconds at a time and must recharge for 10 seconds before reactivating.
 

Kingpin

Kingpins are the leaders of syndicates who exude an air of authority and power. They are well-dressed and adorned with lavish accessories symbolizing their status. However, they achieved their position by being as dangerous as they are merciless. Kingpins are heavily protected with portable shield generators, and they carry a variety of small arms and melee weapons. They are nimble, powerful, and extremely well versed in combat.
