The Herd

Members of the Herd are the warriors of the Carnax empire. Born into servitude, they are slaves to the higher castes and execute the will of the Chosen. Herd members are considered property rather than individuals and are often sacrificed without a second thought by those above them.   Within the Herd of the Carnax are various classes that serve specific roles and fulfill distinct functions. They are all distinctly different, however they are all susceptible to attacks directly to the head.  

Pawn

Pawns are the plentiful, front-line warriors of the Herd. They are dressed in tattered fabric and minimal armor. They wield large spears for close-range combat and have energy pistols for ranged attacks. They do move often and strike quickly.  

Rook

Rooks are scouts and infiltrators with slender bodies covered in small spines. They wear low profile armor and sleek uniforms that have active camouflage technology, allowing them temporarily phase shift, becoming invisible. Armed with dual energy blades, they are swift and deadly in close-quarters combat. They carry long range rifles to engage at range as well.  

Knight

Carnax Knights are a fearsome warrior class. They are powerful and muscular, adorned with full plate armor with visible spines on their arms and shoulders as well as horns protruding from their helmet. They wear gauntlets with large claws and can throw stun grenades, making opponents vulnerable to attack. They hit particularly hard, making them very dangerous at close range.  

Armored Knight

With a similar look and build to standard Knights, Armored Knights are large and covered in thick metallic plating. They have large spines that extend from their back. However, they carry two powerful cannons instead, attacking at range. While they do not have melee weapons, they can strike close enemies with their guns. Additionally, they generate barriers to create cover and protection.  

Bishop

Bishops embody ancient tribal traditions by wearing intricately crafted armor adorned with skulls and fangs, and carry a ceremonial energy axe. Their attire consists of minimal armor plating and flowing, tattered fabric. They use their primal battle instincts and savage fighting style to rush at their enemies directly and stay within close quarters. They are also able to channel healing rifts for their allies to stand in, regenerating their health.
