XVIII. The Nexus Keys

The Nexus Keys are dangerous Relics capable of creating fractures in spacetime which open gateways into Dark Space. The otherworldly portals allow beings to traverse between dimensions. Each Key is a variant of the others with the form of intricate, interlocking geometric shapes.

By breaking the shapes apart, an explosion of energy opens a rift between normal reality and Dark Space for a limited period. These fractures manifest as unstable, shimmering cracks in reality itself reminiscent of a broken mirror, violently swirling with dark energy. Not only is Dark Space extremely dangerous, the rifts are only open for a short time, so quick re-entry back into reality should be a top priority.
