Gulto, the Hopping Nightmare

"Yous guys gots anotha thing coming if yous thinks yous can mess wit me."
-Gulto's last words   Gulto was the end result of one of Levira's experiments, created by converting a slaad's control gem into a Gravestone. She turned him over to Moltor, who needed a thinking minion rather than a mindless monster for his next project.   Gulto had the ability to drain the life energy from others, turning the victims' corpses into zombies. However, he could only affect 1 person at a time and this was much too slow to create the army Moltor wanted. Levira fixed this issue by loaning Gulto the Grave Orb, magnifying his abilities and allowing him to target people en masse.   To kill two birds with one stone, Gulto and Moltor went to a small village and used a Gravestone-corrupted ettercap to ensnare travelers for conversion into zombies. This gave them a few starting corpses and would also attract a few adventurers they could eliminate to weaken the Guild. The Headhunters soon arrived and dispatched the ettercap, stopping in a nearby village to rest at the local inn before heading home.   Moltor, Nadira, and Gulto hid in the village's storehouse where a zombie scout informed them of the Headhunters arrival. Moltor instructed Gulto to eliminate the group and convert them and the entire village into zombies while they slept before teleporting away with Nadira. Unknown to them, Kiri was spying on this exchange and toppled a shelf on top of Gulto before running to gather the other Headhunters.   Gulto remained in the warehouse and began the ritual to drain the village's life energy while sending his zombies to deal with the Headhunters. Back in the village, Hugh used the three Gravestones in the Headhunters' possession to empower a dispel magic spell and temporarily disable the Grave Orb and Gulto's own magic. Without magic to aid him, Gulto hid in the shadows of the storehouse and waited for the adventurers to come to him.   As Kiri and Chigiri entered the warehouse, Gulto ensnared Chigiri with his long frog-like tongue. He traded blows with the pair, confident of his victory to the end when Chigiri managed to pierce his rapier through the back of Gulto's throat and into his brain. Chigiri claimed the Grave Orb as it rolled away from Gulto's corpse while Kiri took his head, which was later turned in for a Guild bounty.
