Haz

Haz is a miniature giant space hamster and a member of the Miniature Giant Space Hamster Empire along with his brothers, Sunny and Ban. The brothers are all military men and were attempting to create a new kind of Gundam, the humanoid-sized constructs used by their nation for defense. These machines can only be piloted by those born with a certain magical prowess (possessed by 1/10,000 miniature giant space hamsters) and the brothers sought to improve their military's numbers by building an automated unit. But something went wrong, and as Haz powered it up for a test run the cockpit closed around him. He was trapped inside as the Light Gundam fled to carry out its programming of "eliminating the Empire's enemies" with extreme prejudice. Haz could do nothing to override it, now a prisoner inside his own creation.   Thankfully, Ban eventually caught up with him and, with the assistance of some locals he'd befriended, managed to destroy the Light Gundam and recover Haz when his cockpit ejected. Haz was malnourished and dehydrated from his imprisonment, as well as extremely grateful for the rescue, and seemed a bit delirious while answer what questions he could about what the Light Gundam had been up to. He was taken home by Ban shortly thereafter to rest, recover, and hopefully not face a court martial for this whole incident.

Cover Story

Prior to the existance of the Miniature Giant Space Hamster Empire being revealed to the non-hamsters, this was the cover story Sunny gave his traveling companions:
Haz is a warforged created accidentally by a wizard. He was one of the rare constructs that achieved sentience during his "birth", becoming something in-between a partner and son to his creator. His situation was not unique either; two other constructs, Sunny and Ban, also achieved sentience around the same time. The trio "grew up" together and quickly came to view each other as brothers under their creator's tutelage.   But the means by which a construct may achieve sentience is not fully understood and imperfect. Unbeknownst to any of them, something went wrong during Haz's creation. One day, with little to no warning, Haz simply snapped and murdered his father before running off into the night. Why he did it and where he fled remain mysteries, though Sunny and Ban have pursued their brother and are determined to bring him to justice.
