Holler Spiders

Holler spiders are a small species of spider found most often in the Underdark. They have unusual orange coloration and, even more oddly, horns on their head shaped like instrument horns. Rather than relying on webs or venom to hunt prey animals, they fire compressed sonic blasts from these horns. They can also use quieter noises for communication. Holler spiders are remarkably intelligent for spider, about as smart as the average dog, and can be trained as guard animals that act as a natural alarm system. They also tend to be musically inclined, often tooting their horns together.
