Lucky the Drake

Lucky is a magical drake and lifelong partner of Fast James "Jimmy" Deric, conjured from Jimmy's magic. He often supported Jimmy and the rest of the Venture Boys by biting their enemies with his sharp fangs and empowering their attacks with elemental magic. Lucky's ability to gain immunity to various types of elemental magic also proves handy, like when he was the only member of the party immune to acid in the stomach of a beached kraken. This allowed Lucky to retrieve a chest from a ship belonging to Ketna that the kraken had attacked and partially eaten. It ended up containing several magic items the party found useful, particularly Althea Filanes' guardian emblem.
This same trait also gave him immunity to lightning when the party found a bunker from the Ancient War and reactivated damaged electrical machinery. Lucky proved to be a great help battling the hostile animated furniture throughout the facility, which he viewed as new chew toys.
When Jimmy grew ill and became hospitalized, Lucky remained with him and could often be found at the foot of Jimmy's bed.
