Lyn

Lyn is a young human woman who works at the GnoName Tavern taking its small stage as a songstress and helping to clean after closing. Born with weak lungs, Lyn can only sing for a limited amount of time each day and requires special medicine to help with even normal respiratory functions. She possesses a great natural beauty that is marred by the scars on her face, the aftereffects of a mugging in Lowtown. This event left some psychological scars on Lyn as well; she is ever fearful of a repeat incident and does everything in her power to avoid the notice of the Crows and lowlife criminals that stalk the streets of Lowtown.

Uncovering the Underdark campaign

Much to her horror, Lyn was accosted by a group of Crow thugs who intended to mug her on her way to work one evening. One of the thugs grabbed her forcefully, knocking her medicine from her hand, only for Vinnie Vice to run up and attack one of the ruffians. As other adventurers moved to support Vinnie, Lyn's friend Elycia Mirais (who occasionally performs at the GnoName Tavern) made sure she was alright and helped the young woman retrieve her medicine in the middle of the coughing fit. The adventurers succeeded in subduing the thugs, who were taken to a nearby guardhouse by Leh'ct while the rest of the group escorted Lyn to her workplace.
Several days later, Lyn had taken to the GnoName Tavern's stage and was sitting on a stool, plucking her harp and singing a lovely song when the adventurers who'd previously saved her arrived after saving another damsel in distress. Her singing triggered a small coughing fit and left her fatigued, which she treated with a dose of her medicine and a quick nap. The next day, Leh'ct went to speak to Lyn alone and inquired about her medical condition. Lyn explained that she had been born with weak lungs that could not be treated by restorative magic, since that magic worked only on wounds and illnesses. Not giving up, Leh'ct asked what was in the medicine she took; Lyn didn't know off-hand, but promised the young drow she'd ask her doctor the next time she picked up more.
