Pompolius the Powerful (self-given title) is an old wizard with great skill in the arcane arts. He was powerful enough to create his own demiplane to squirrel himself away in and conduct magical research undisturbed. Pompolius sought a way to make himself immortal without turning to lichdom or risking making clones that could be destroyed his his absence. His efforts were a partial success, transferring his soul into a suit of powerful armor but stripping him of most of his magical abilities in the process. Pompolius needed flesh to regain his full magic, but his old body was aged and weak. Thankfully for him, a new solution soon presented itself.
A group of adventurers found themselves suddenly transported there when they stumbled upon the entrance that Pompolius had hidden in a place he thought no one would ever look: his autobiography. While they were searching his home and fighting the constructs guarding it, Pompolius was under the water in his beach-themed demiplane admiring the beautiful coral reefs to pass some time. He was notified of the intruders by his imp aide Vazerag and began making his way back.
He confronted the intruders and his short temper quickly flared at their insolent words and the way they'd trashed his constructs. Though Pompolius was relatively unskilled in martial combat, the raw power of his construct body made up for this deficiency. Ultimately, the adventurers were defeated with one of them dead from their injuries while the rest were knocked unconscious. The intruders subdued, Pompolius reinacted his magical ritual to swap bodies with Vinnie Vice, putting himself into the body of a young orc. This somewhat backfired due to the sheer amount of alcohol in Vinnie's blood, leaving Pompolius in a weakened state. After stripping his former construct body of anything useful, he used his magic to shove the adventurers out of the demiplane before collapsing it and fleeing to parts unknown.
