Queen Adria Durron
Queen Durron's parents fled to the area that would become Lothal when before the future queen was even born. Many nations in this region of the world are tight in the grip of xenophobia and her parents' families did not approve of matrimony between a human and elf. Nonetheless, her parents gave her the best upbringing they could with the benefit of passing on the education they had received as nobles to their daughter.
Despite the discrimination they themselves had faced, her parents did not see the irony when they began to frown upon Adria's budding romance with a half-orc named Paul. But like her parents before her, Adria would not let the thoughts of others stand in the way of her heart. The star-crossed lovers were making plans to elope when the War of Sea and Sky spread to the town they called home.
Where Paul was an effective military leader, it was Adria who became the face of the militia that held the eastern line. She had an almost mystical ability to inspire others, encouraging her countrymen to never give up hope in the face of their enemies. It is fair to say that without Adria there to boost morale, the eastern guerillas would have been wiped out long before reinforcements from the west could arrive.
Adria was present when Nergalee reincarnated Paul into a half-elf after the final battle of the war and was the first to embrace her lover in his new form. The two worked side by side after Paul was declared King, delegating the political, cultural, and economic decisions of the newly formed country while King Paul Shapechanger focused on the military matters of strategy and defense. Today, Queen Durron rules alongside her husband from the capital of Nerograd as a fair and just queen much beloved by the people for having brought their country so far in so short a time.
